I got the idea for this topic when I saw a short film about how people’s lives are affected by the oil industry at the petroleum museum in Stavanger in Norway. In the final scene, an old father, a former worker on the oil platform, is sitting by the sea looking at the roaring waves and the stormy weather with worried eyes. For him, this weather means a risk for the lives of the workers on the platform. It struck me because the meaning of weather is so present and relevant to our lives, and it could be so important and so distinct for different people.

When I asked myself what weather means to me, I found the answers in my photos. While on exchange in Norway, I mostly took photos of Stavanger. Yet I also took photos during my travels to other parts of Norway, where I tried to capture Norwegian weather in a series of photographs, which included various different weather conditions such as sunshine, cloudiness, snow, rain, fog, and storms, etc.
