Filmseminar with Nicolas Humbert

The Filmseminar held by Nicolas Humbert will be held in German.

It will take place on the 25 and 26 November at the RCC. The Group size is limited to 12 students.

Bio/Filmographie

NICOLAS HUMBERT born in 1958. Early writings, pictures and Super-8 films influenced by French Surrealism. 1982-87 studied at School for Film in Munich. Since then has worked as author and film director. Founded the film production Cine Nomad together with Werner Penzel. Films include the feature film NEBEL JAGEN (1985), the documentary WOLFSGRUB (1986) and two films in collaboration with Werner Penzel, STEP ACROSS THE BORDER(1990) and MIDDLE OF THE MOMENT (1995). Followed by the experimental film VAGABONDING IMAGES (1998) together with Simone Fürbringer, the film triptych THREE WINDOWS - Hommage to Robert Lax (1999) and the films WHY SHOULD I BUY A BED WHEN ALL THAT I WANT IS SLEEP? (1999), NOT LIKE BEFORE (2005) and BROTHER YUSEF (2005) in collaboration with Werner Penzel, followed by LUCIE & MAINTENANT (2007) and I'M A CROW (2009) in collaboration with Simone Fürbringer, and WANTED! HANNS EISLER (2012) in collaboration with Martin Otter.

Das Seminar wird im Rahmen einer 2-tägigen Ateliersituation stattfinden, in der sowohl filmische Arbeiten vorgestellt werde, über die theoretisch gearbeitet werden kann als auch eine Art Feldexkursion an die Ränder der Stadt München erfolgen wird, um dort sowohl die geographische wie auch die soziale Peripherie zu entdecken und in persönliche Erzählungen zu verwandeln.

Das Seminar wird mit ‚MIDDLE OF THE MOMENT’, einem Film über nomadisches Leben beginnen. Ein interessanter Aspekt des Films im Zusammenhang mit dem RCC ist das ökologische Konzept, das sich im nomadischen Leben offenbart. Im Anschluss oder als Abschluss wird außerdem der neue Film ‚WILD PLANTS’ von Nicolas Humbert gezeigt, der von neuen und alten Verbindungen zwischen Menschen und Pflanzenwelt erzählt.
