Carina Schmitz completed a bachelor’s degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology and Pedagogy at LMU Munich. Since 2013 she has been pursuing postgraduate studies in Social and Cultural Anthropology at LMU Munich and is currently writing her thesis on the spirit and organizational culture of social start-ups. As her final project for the Environmental Studies Certificate Program in 2015, together with Sandra Mader and Pamela Flores Dávila, she carried out interdisciplinary field research into human-dog teams, focusing on diabetic alert dogs and PTSD assistance dogs.
