Lori Schiesl, B.A.

American History, Culture and Society

Lori Schiesl has finished her MA degree in American history, culture and society at LMU Munich. She has a BA (hons) in history and interdisciplinary studies and has completed minors in theatre and German studies. She is also a research assistant at RCC and actively participates in many RCC events. Lori joined the Environmental Studies Certificate Program in 2015.

In her final project she discussed the history of plastic and its relationship to materialism in order to answer the question: why does plastic exist despite its environmental impact?, talked about the different types of plastics that are used commercially, what purpose they serve, and how they can be recycled, and finally, introduced the DYI technique used in the adjoining ―How to Guide that offers a solution for anyone that wants to save money, be creative, and recycle their own plastic.
