Ramona Mayr studied her Bachelor's degree in International Cultural and Business Studies at the University of Passau, with a focus on South East Asian Studies and geography. After her graduation, she decided to do her Master in Intercultural Communication at the LMU focusing on qualitative research methods. The Environmental Studies Certificate Program (ESCP) was the perfect bridge between her love for geography, environmental issues, and empirical research. During the program she discovered her interest for plastic and food waste. Therefore, her final project was based on empirical field research and centered on dumpster diving. Together with Sibylle Zavalla and Thomas Müller she shed light on food waste in Munich. They focused on different measures of food saving, i.e. the Münchner Tafel, foodsharing e.V. and private dumbster divers, and illustrated this in a photography exhibition. After her graduation, Ramona started her professional career as a consultant with a Munich based consultancy.
