Maria Ramisch, B.A.

Certificate Student
Cultural Anthropology

Maria Ramisch studies cultural anthropology, with a focus on organization-anthropology, multispecies ethnography, and socio-ecological transformation discurses/postcapitalist structures.

Her bachelor thesis is titled: "In der Vielfalt sind wir eine Welt. Vom anthropozentrischen Fortschrittsgedanken hin zu holistischen, pluralen Lebensformen mit Beispielen Degrowth und Buen Vivir."
It is about the difficulties of thinking outside the hegemonial, western-capitalist box concerning the search for answers to questions raised by ecological and social crises.

In the summer of 2018, she did a fieldwork study at a management consultancy for sustainability in reporting and strategy, to take a glance inside those structures which are blamed by representatives of transformation discurses to be the root of the crises. She focused on the question of how for example the keyword "sustainability" is lived and thought of by the participants.
