Thessa Kehler received a bachelor's degree in material physics from the Univesity of Erlangen, before coming to LMU Munich in 2018 to continue her studies for a master's degree in physics. The opportunity to participate in the Environmental Studies Certificate Program at the Rachel Carson Center brings a much-valued change in her studies—usually dominated by the natural sciences—and way of thinking and communicating about problems.
Passionate about designing and sewing clothes in her spare time, Thessa is especially interested in sustainable fashion concepts and the problematic phenomenon of "fast fashion." Given that (Western and/or urban) lifestyle has such an immense impact on the environment, she hopes to explore the question of how this can be improved through the practice of green living.
