Helena Held received her bachelor's degree in social and cultural anthropology with a minor in languages, literature, and culture at LMU Munich. She also spent a semester abroad at the Venice International University in Venice. Her bachelor's thesis addressed her own sensory and atmospheric research in Munich focusing on the relationship between a person and their personal belongings and objects. She is currently studying visual anthropology for her master's degree. Her academic interests in general include social movements, post-development, and degrowth and pluriverse perspectives of life; material cultures and art (especially film and fashion); food studies, the global politics of food, and permaculture and biodiversity.
