After spending a school year in Brazil and fulfilling his civilian service duty in Morocco, Konstantin Engelbrecht studied physical and human geography in Bonn, where he also developed his interests in international politics and history. He later studied in Italy where, for his bachelor's thesis, he conducted field research on immigrant street traders. Returning to his hometown of Munich he began his master's degree in cultural anthropology at LMU Munich, researching how alpine rock climbers perceive the environment. In addition to his studies he likes to travel, hike, climb, and practice capoeira and Brazilian folk dancing.
