Natalie Kiefer completed her bachelor´s degree in art and visual history with a minor in area studies Asia/Africa at Humboldt University Berlin in 2021. She is currently pursuing a master´s degree in Art History at LMU Munich. In Berlin, she became interested in connecting her major with topics from environmental studies through the Studium Oecologicum certificate program and by visiting lectures at the IRI THESys institute.
As a passionate diver, she has focused her work on the visual representation of the ocean and is exploring ways of (re)thinking the ecosystem. Her interest is centered around the recurring conflict between scientific knowledge, human utilization, and modes of visualization. Within the environmental studies certificate program, she plans to extend her interdisciplinary engagement.
