Jorge Benítez received a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City in 2017. During his studies, he became engaged in interdisciplinary social projects that involved food sovereignty and urban agriculture, a stepping stone to his current studies and his involvement with the Rachel Carson Center. He is now pursuing a master's degree in sustainable resource management at the Technical University of Munich with a specialization in soil science and agriculture.
