Amelie Hibsch received her bachelor's degree in history with a minor in political science at LMU Munich in 2023. During her studies, she focused mainly on the history of East-Central and Eastern Europe (with a focus on Poland and Russia) as well as on the history of National Socialism, the history of resistance and on radical right-wing and populist parties in Europe. Currently, Amelie is pursuing a master’s degree in the Elite Graduate Program for East European Studies. Besides studying at the Rachel Carson Center, she is learning Polish and Russian. In the Environmental Studies Certificate program, she is particularly interested in the impact of war on the environment and how this problem can be addressed with an interdisciplinary approach. But regardless of Amelie´s previous knowledge, she also wants to be inspired by seminars and fellow students with different backgrounds, especially on the topics sustainability and human-environment relations.
